Q&A With Ryan Head

Meet Kind and Caring Ryan

Ryan Head joined our team as a night coordinator in 2021. Two promotions later, Ryan is the site manager of the Denver Human Services Safe Outdoor Space. Ryan is a kind and compassionate leader who is trusted by staff and community members alike. Learn more about Ryan:

Tell us about your work.

I work with the site staff, peer support specialists, and case managers to serve our residents as well as run the daily operations of the site. I coordinate with outside organizations to bring resources for our residents into the site.

What does a day at work look like for you?

Every day is different based on what is happening at the site that day and the specific needs of our residents. An example of one day:

  • Conduct a new resident intake and sign them up for a housing program.

  • Reach out to case managers to invite new community members into the SOS program.

  • Provide ibuprofen, socks, and a beanie hat to a resident.

  • Meet with the leadership and design teams to discuss site improvements.

  • Clean and sanitize the community tents.

  • Hold space for a resident who is going through a rough time.

  • Fill out an Emergency Housing Voucher application with a resident.

What do you like about working at CVC?

The people I work with are amazing and I believe the work we are doing is important. I'm grateful to be part of an organization with CVC's values. Every day is an opportunity to help others and to continue to grow into a better version of myself.

What else do you want to share?

We really need lunch and dinner donations! You can sign up here. We also have three daily shifts for volunteers to stop by and help out. You can sign up for that here. We hope to see you at the site!
