In loving memory …

During the early morning of Nov. 9, 2021, we lost a community member – a resident of one of our Safe Outdoor Spaces. The death weighs very heavy on all of us, including our St. Francis Center Safe Outdoor Space colleagues who worked closely with this community member. This beloved community member touched many of our lives, and we are better for it.

Our friend recently had been hospitalized for a serious medical condition and although we knew their condition was serious, their passing was unexpected.

While losing a member of our community comes with much grief and sadness for all of us at CVC and the St. Francis Center, we are glad this person was being cared for and passed away in a warm space in their bed rather than on the cold, hard streets. We are providing resources within our SOS communities to tend to anyone who may need help in dealing with this loss and we extend our heartfelt condolences to our resident’s family and friends. It is never easy to lose a loved one.

We grieve together.
