CVC Executive Director Cole Chandler talks lawsuit Dismissal with Brother Jeff Fard

On May 19th, Denver District Judge A. Bruce Jones ruled to dismiss the lawsuit filed against Colorado Village Collaborative, The City of Denver, Park Hill United Methodist Church, Pastor Nathan Adams, and Zoning Administrator Tina Axlerad.

We have a valid permit in hand, and will proceed with our planned expansion of Safe Outdoor Spaces at both Regis University and Park Hill United Methodist Church/Temple Micah.

As we advance this project, we are grateful to the many Park Hill neighbors who have already opened their arms to receive their newest neighbors by expressing their support, opening their wallets, swapping recipes that will feed a crowd, and committing to volunteer on an ongoing basis. Since the lawsuit was filed, more than 150 have made donations to advance the expansion of Safe Outdoor Spaces in Denver.

The generous spirit of these most welcoming neighbors is the spirit that lightens our path as we move forward. Standing alongside those neighbors, the faith communities from Park Hill United Methodist Church/Temple Micah, and our unhoused neighbors, we are eager to bring these Safe Outdoor Spaces to life and offer quality service and support in a neighborhood that has a rich history of building connections across dividing lines for the betterment of us all.

Those wishing to join us in welcoming new neighbors to Park Hill may do so by donating to CVC, signing up to volunteer, sharing a meal with our community, or assisting in the build out of the new locations.
